This is a titan model called “Monolith,” created for the Substance Titan Contest by Allegorithmic, in 2014.
This was the first project I worked on after leaving the vfx industry, working at Legend 3D. A few of the pieces were done in 3DS Max, but then later shifted to Maya. Textured in Substance Designer, and done in a 2:1 ratio. That was probably the first time I've done it that way for any asset. The pedestal was quickly done in Zbrush, Maya, and textured in Substance Painter. I wasn't able to get placed in the top 10 or even 20, but overall, it was fun working on this from start to finish.
11/2021 - Re-sculpted the pedestal.
